About Us
Mission statement
Every child. One Voice. PTA's mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
R.H. Dana is a community held together by the support and volunteer hours of parents like you! We strive to create a fun, supportive, caring atmosphere for our school while trying to close any gaps in state educational funding. Please ask parents, grandparents, friends, and students to join. We need YOU!
PROGRAMS WE HELP PROVIDE
What Does the PTA do?
Our PTA focuses on supporting our teachers and staff, as well as building a strong community. We work together to create a fun and engaging place for our students to learn and grow. All of the money we raise goes directly back into our students and our school!
ART
Through the Meet The Masters art program, instructors will introduce our students to four historical art masters and in turn students will explore their own artistic abilities. The PTA also organizes the National PTA Reflections Art contest, where students submit their own art based on the annual theme.
community
connections
We plan to continue to create and strengthen relationships with businesses and organizations in Dana Point.
SCIENCE
Provide teachers with special funds for science based learning activities.
Teacher Appreciation
We host teacher appreciation events throughout the year such as a Welcome Back Breakfast, Holiday Luncheon and multiple Teacher Appreciation Week meals/activities.
FIELD TRIPS
The PTA provides funds for each grade-level to enjoy a field trip every year.
on campus fun
Our goal is to create a fun and enthusiastic environment for our students and staff. We will help bring assemblies back to campus as well as host many events throughout year including:
-
Membership Welcome Meet-up
-
Hispanic Heritage Fiesta
-
Hot Chocolate Social
-
Spring Carnival
-
Pumpkin Carving Contest
-
Haunted Hallway
-
Door Decorations
-
Glow Dance
-
And more!
FUNDRAISERS
Each year will hold our annual Jogathon encouraging movement and community, as well as our Giving Sea fundraiser. Money raised from these events go towards the next year’s programs, field trips, and on-campus improvement projects.
UNIFORMS
The PTA is responsible for designing, storing, and filling orders for school uniforms. We try to keep costs as low as possible, but any minor profits go back to school programs and needs.
LANGUAGE / READING
Each year we host 2 book fairs to build interest in books and to inspire a love of reading. We aim to have at least one all Spanish book fair to support our immersion program. Funds from our book fairs are used to purchase new books for our library.
